One of the leading global financial services organisations is currently looking for a Employee Relations specialist on a 6 month contract, following a period of change within the bank. The role is VP level and will report to the Head of HR Business Partnering.

Currently, the HR Business Partners pick up the majority of ER for their business area so this role will act as an escalation point to deal with high volume and great complexity of work. The bank has been through a period of transition which has driven a higher performance culture, and this specialist role will be expected to take a more strategic view on employee relations issues across the organisation and consider some proactive measures to address common topics.

Other day to day responsibilities will include:

  • Managing complex Employee Relations cases, including providing recommendations to senior leaders on risk assessment, strategy and approach
  • Ensuring a coordinated and consistent approach to Employee Relations matters
  • Acting as a subject matter expert in the knowledge and application of employment law, HR policy and process
  • Overseeing strategic Employee Relations projects, acting as the point of contact within the HR team for policy development and regulatory related projects related to conduct risk

To be considered for this role you must have a strong employee relations background and experience working in financial services would be beneficial. Experience of managing employee litigation including tribunal claims is key, and being able to assess the risks associated with employee relations issues and taking appropriate steps to achieve resolution within the legal framework is essential.

This contract is to start fairly quickly, and knowledge and experience gained within a regulated and organisationally complex environment would also be expected. Employment law background preferred.

The SR Group (UK) Limited is acting as an Employment Agency in relation to this vacancy.
