A new and exciting Regional Retail Start-up going through growth. We have met them and have been impressed. This is a newly created Head of People & Happiness role. Reporting to the CEO, this position is accountable for the well-being and happiness of their regional retail employees.
A people manager role for a small HR team as well as office managers in international locations. The successful incumbent will be commercial, engaging, have excellent presentation and numeracy, and importantly, a positive 'can-do' attitude. Responsible for managing a team, ensuring operational excellence and implementing an effective people strategy.
This person will execute all aspects of HR from ensuring optimal HR infrastructure is in place, as well as operational excellence through to developing and executing the people & happiness strategy for the business. You will help the business to re-create their values, create culture and engagement initiatives, recognise and reward others in a really positive and creative way.
Given this is retail, it is a fast-paced business where the direction of travel will change and you will need to keep up with the pace. You will get to own this role and make it your own. You will manage talent, attraction, retention and work alongside the recruitment team for new hires ensuring positive interactions are key to every aspect of people.
This will be 'hands on', there will be operational aspects to manage and everything in-between!.. This role wouldn't be right for someone wanting a firm job spec, a firmed up role and need to be told what to do! Self-starter, fun and can-do attitude is required at all times! You will get to work with a high-energy, entrepreneurial leadership team.
You: Will be high energy, engaging, a change-maker, an ambassador of the brand, an ambassador for employees. Commercial decision-making, a real 'ideas and executor' person. You will come with solutions - not problems and will enjoy providing an engaging, dynamic and proactive HR service. you will be visible in their stores, get to know their customer base, and well-known across all of their people.

Desirable: Retail/Sales, or commercial sector background. Start-up experience.
