Our client, a multi-national commercial group, with its core operations in the Asia Pacific region with a large focus on China, are looking to hire a Head of C&B and HR Services to be based in Hong Kong. The role also offers the incumbent the opportunity to join the company's HR Leadership programme and with it future career development through the organisations various commercial businesses.

In this role you will be responsible for planning, developing and ensuring the effective delivery of an integrated and appropriate compensation and benefits strategy; enabling the attraction and retention of talent. The business has grown both organically and through acquisition and is very successful in its field. This role reports to the Global Head of HR (also based in Hong Kong) and will work closely with Country HR Heads in North Asia as well as in the US to deliver C&B strategy. You will manage directly a team of 5 in Hong Kong on a day to day basis within the Group COE function.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Review, establish and implement an improved services model, including payroll, benefits administration, employee communication, wellness and well-being
  • Research, design and implement competitive benefits programs and monitor external service providers to ensure high delivery standards
  • Facilitate and con-ordinate annual salary review and bonus process
  • Manage and improve end to end China mobility policy and related C&B processes
  • Provide specific direction and guidance to China Plant HR functions on the application of compensation policies and programs, the formulation if salary and bonus plans, benefits management and talent mobility management
  • Co-ordinate analysis, benchmark studies to support the Global Head of HR as well as the GM for the business to make decisions on executive reward
  • Work with HR Heads and business stakeholders to ensure changes to organisation structure and jobs are accurately documented and reflected in Job Architecture and ensure structure is accurately benchmarked
  • HR Compliance: proactively contribute to audit process and establish, implement and monitor professional standards
  • Lead C&B competency, educating local HR teams to deliver on C&B objectives and contribute to HR Academy as a C&B SME
  • Identify areas of improvement for C&B services, optimising and transforming processes where required

To be considered for this role you will need to demonstrate:

  • 12 years relevant experience in HR with a predominant focus on the Comp & Bens specialism and ideally broader HR experience in a BP or Generalist capacity
  • At least 5 years heading the function or perhaps as a no. 2 in a MNC environment
  • Experience with providing guidance and direction on China reward practices
  • Experience with data analysis and presentation
  • Candidates will need to have strong problem solving and decision making capability
  • Ability to drive change, negotiate and influence internal stakeholders
  • Fluency in English, Cantonese and Putonghua
  • Candidates will need to have strong problem solving and decision making capability
  • The ability to travel on business when needed (not excessive)
