We're partnering with a global commercial real estate broker as they look to hire a Human Resources Director. This is a newly created position that has been approved by the newly appointed Chief Human Resources Officer as they seek to expand and mature the HR function. This role will support the North American population of ~950 employees across nearly 40 offices. Despite the title, this is an individual contributor who will have functional expertise in all aspects of HR as well as the ability to drive process improvements and projects. The HR team is being expanded and this will be 1 of 6 team members in the corporate office, partnering with 17 generalists in the field.
While the HR Director will handle all aspects of day-to-day HR service delivery for the corporate population and escalated issues from the field, they will also work closely with the CHRO on a number of initiatives and projects such as reviewing and rewriting job descriptions for the North American organization, reviewing compensation practices, rewriting policies and procedures, revamping performance and talent management initiatives, and defining the HR strategy to best align with and support business objectives. Despite this being a company with a long history in the market, the HR function is still being established, creating an exceptional opportunity for impact.
The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of business partnering expertise. Experience in professional services supporting a sales population is required. Our client would be very interested in candidates who started their career in established, best-in-class HR environments, but who have spent the more recent part of their HR career working in start-ups or environments where HR is being established/evolved. Agility in approach and grit are critical qualities for success in this type of environment.
