Our client, a revered name in the legal world, is seeking an experienced Talent and Staffing Manager to focus in their Corporate Practice Area and sit (post covid restrictions) in their Manhattan Office. This newly created and highly visible opportunity will allow you to serve as a trusted advisor and liaison between Associates, Partners, and Attorney and Professional Development resources to ensure staffing and development needs are being met from all perspectives. Serving under the firm's dynamic Head of Talent, this individual will contribute greatly to the seamless client service and exceptional staff engagement and development they are known for, while leveraging this exciting opportunity to drive a host of staffing and talent initiatives. Rooted in data and a strong influencer and communicator, this hire will have access to major stakeholders in order to stay ahead of the curve on gaps in staff coverage as well as areas for professional development for the associate populations. They will create presentations using data and analysis they've culled from other HR functional areas. In concert with Attorney Development managers, this individual will respond to staff development needs by aligning associates with the most suited work and practice managers.
Successful candidates will have significant knowledge of Corporate Practice and will (ideally) have worked as attorneys themselves before shifting into a staffing related role. Experience in professional development within another top law firm could also be a potential match in certain circumstance and if facing Corporate Practice. Strong communications, technical (data analysis) ability, and the desire to work across multiple, visible teams is required as is the ability to work off hours or over time as needed (though work/life integration is valued at this firm).
